This course focuses on “Christian spirituality” and precisely, Jesus’ understanding of it portrayed through the Gospels as “becoming his lifelong apprentice” (disciple). It is a storied, theological, and practical course for spiritual growth. Its aim is to help our students to understand and practice spirituality as Jesus did: to be captivated by him and his spirituality, to walk in his way and become like him, following him in his kingdom. Why Jesus? Because we believe he was both human and divine: he modeled what it means to be truly human in God’s image, and he was God incarnate, revealing God to us. Jesus is indeed The Way to God.
The School of Leadership and Theology (SOLT) is an educational initiative founded by a group of experienced academics and pastors dedicated to equipping believers as lifelong learners and practical apprentices of Jesus. Embracing the digital age, SOLT leverages virtual learning platforms, online courses, and small group environments to bridge geographical distances and foster an accessible learning community. The institution offers comprehensive curriculums, including foundational and advanced Theology and Leadership programs, designed to provide a robust biblical, theological, and spiritual foundation capable of enduring the uncertainties of the modern, post-truth century. With a strong emphasis on Kingdom theology, SOLT focuses on deep scriptural understanding while preparing students to apply these teachings practically in their daily lives and ministries, ultimately raising mature Christian leaders who are well-equipped to guide others.

Course Instructor
He is married to Gill, and they have two children, Zander and Misha-Joy. They live in a Christian community on a farm south of Johannesburg, South Africa. Alexander is part of the national leadership team of the Vineyard Churches Association of South Africa. Doing Church is the first book in the “Doing” series. Other titles include Doing Reconciliation, Doing Healing, and Doing Spirituality.
